Music-Based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT-M)
A Preliminary Model of Music-Based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)© (Muntaha, 2016) incorporates music into a CBT approach that is already evidence-based and shown to be effective to treat a range of mental health issues including Anxiety and Depression. This approach incorporates music to make CBT accessible for hard to reach groups. I offer this intervention both individually and in groups using classical music compositions, songs, rap music or spoken word which has specific meaning for clients.
